FAQ
Q: Do You Have A Real Studio?
Yes, I do! I have a residential studio in north Plano.
Q: What Does The Session Fee Include?
A: The session fee includes the time and talent of the photographer, and the retouching and post processing of any ordered photos. No prints are included in the session fee.
Q: I'm Not Sure I Understand. What Do I Get For The Minimum Order?
A: The minimum is simply the minimum dollar amount that you have to spend for the session you choose. You can choose any items from our A La Carte pricing menu, with no limits on poses. As long as you reach your required minimum, you're good to go.
Q: Why Don't You Have Packages? Won't They Save Me Money?
I don't have packages because they limit the number of poses you can choose, and make you buy more than you want or need. Also, packages don't actually save you money. It's a pricing strategy where it gives you the illusion that you are saving money, but you really aren't at all. I prefer to be fair and up front with my pricing, and let you choose the photos and products that you want.
Q: Do You Charge Extra For Retouching?
No, I do not. Full and complete retouching is included in the price of the photographic products that you order. Acne and blemish removal, stray hairs, bags under the eyes, skin smoothing, and other issues are absolutely included! I only charge extra for braces removal. (In this case, I would either wait for your braces to be removed or ask your orthodontist to remove your braces for the photo shoot.) I have found that the smile just does not look natural with braces on, especially when the braces are removed from the photo.
Q: How Do I Place My Order?
I offer live Zoom ordering appointments from the comfort of your home. Your images will be viewed large on your home TV screen. I will help you look at your images, compare them side by side, answer any of your questions, and help you choose what is right for you and your home.
I do not offer proofs or on-line ordering. Why? I am a full service boutique studio, and part of the white glove treatment I give to you is to help you choose the images and products that are appropriate for your individual needs. Choosing what you want is a difficult process if you are left on your own at home to make these important decisions, but MUCH easier when I am there to give you my expertise and advice to help you.
I also have a very simple product menu, to help make your choices easy. Most of my clients order something special to hang on their wall, and the rest of their favorite images go in an album or an image box.
Q: How Much Will I Spend For My Portraits?
Depending on the sessions you choose, minimum required product orders range between $500 to $1250. Most of my families love their portraits so much that they spend between $1,000 and $5,000
Not everyone can afford me, but what you are getting are high quality photographic portraits, my expertise and experience, and high-end archival-quality products that will last a lifetime.
Q: What Payment Methods Do You Accept?
A: Cash, Check, American Express, Discover, Visa, and Mastercard.
Q: How Long Will It Take To Receive My Order?
It depends on the time of year. During slower times, it usually takes around 3 weeks. During the busy season, it can take up to 6 weeks. Quality takes time, so please allow us the time needed to provide you with the quality you would expect from a boutique photography studio.
Q: Do You Sell Digital Images?
I offer both digital images and printed products for sale. However, digital images have a size limit of no more than 8x12. Anything larger than that size must be ordered through Shannon Matson Photography. I only offer a print release, not a copyright release, as all images remain the property of Shannon Matson Photography, and are protected by Federal Copyright Laws.
Q: Can You Mail My Order?
Due to COVID 19, I have been shipping all orders at no additional charge.
Q: How Long Do You Keep My Files?
Unordered files are deleted within 30 days from the date when you place your order. Ordered files are archived for 3 to 5 years.
Q: What If I Want To Make A Copy Of My Photo?
All images remain the property of Shannon Matson Photography, and are protected by Federal Copyright Laws. Duplication in part or whole (whether by scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited, and will be prosecuted by law.
